Our Story

We noticed that AI was quickly entering schools — but most tools weren’t built for education, let alone for the Finnish classroom. They focused on automation instead of learning, speed instead of depth.

We started Pedagogical AI to change that.

Our goal is simple: help teachers use AI in ways that are pedagogical, ethical, and supportive of real learning. Not to replace teachers — but to support them.

We believe Finland needs its own approach to AI in education, one that respects teacher autonomy, student well-being, and the values of our school system.

Meet the Founders

Sami Kalliokoski

Sami is a seasoned technology leader with a background in AI, education, and human-centered design. He founded Pedagogical AI to ensure that technology strengthens learning and supports teachers, not replaces them.

Zhao Hanbo

I helped scale Supermetrics globally, but as a parent and tech advisor, my focus now is clear: making sure Pedagogical AI reaches Finnish schools safely and meaningfully.
